Trying to set up my session review filters.

Normally after a session i filter for hands in which i won or lost x big blinds so that i can review all the hands i actually had decisions in. so i set up a filter described as this in the program

"(Player Won Hand OR Player Lost Hand) AND (Amount Won / Lost BB Between 10 and 1000)"

but when i apply it its only showing hands that i won and none of the ones i lost. is there something i need to change or is this a bug?

Try this instead: "(Player Won Hand AND (Amount Won/Lost BB Between 10 and 1000)) OR ( Player Lost Hand AND (Amount Won/Lost BB Between -10 and -1000)"

1) This is a two stage filter. Build the won part first, the click Add to Filter, now build the loss part

2) You must use negative numbers for the amount lost

3) Each time you Add to the Filter, PT4 assumes you want to AND the two filters together. In this case you should select both filters and then click OR to change from the default.

I like to just sort by wins and see the biggest pots there. Only problem is you cant combine wins & loses this way. If we could get a hybrid win/loss sorting for reports it would do what filter does and it has a big advantage that you actually see where you are making a cut, so you are not leaving out a hand that didnt make the cut in filter by 0.1bb.

What I am asking for is sort by absolute value. -20, -10, 0, 5, 15 would become -20, 15, -10, 5, 0.

(Yes this is something it was in some of your competitors products since ages ago and I dont think its patentable since its basic math )

Random - take a look at our Hero vs Villain report, is this the type of functionality you are referring to? I cannot find any functionality that seems to match your description in any competitive products, can you please provide a more in depth description?

What I was talking about is sorting (in any column). In PT we currently have either ascending or descending order. 3rd option we dont have is descending by absolute value. In my experience this kind of sorting offers easiest way to analyze biggest wins and losses.

To show its use in PT4, we could go to Results>Summary report>Group by Position. Now imagine sorting the bottom table by "Won" and instead of showing just biggest winning hands, it would also show losing hands, all sorted by their actual size instead of the - or + infront (absolute value).

Now when we go through positions in top table, we quickly see biggest pots for each position without having to manually switch sorting around to find biggest wins/losses every time we change position.

I will bring this to the rest of the team for consideration, but I must warn you that the chances are not good... your proposal would require a radical overhal in our UI design. I don't anticipate the reward will be strong enough to invest in this idea so late in development, but its worth a discussion!

In the meantime, have you tried saving a quickfilter yet? Quick access to common filtered results was our intention for this feature. Filters are very easy to create using our new interface, we designed it to be as easy as using a typical iPad interface.
