When installing PT4, a PT4 Database needs to be installed.
Is It possible to merge this one with my PT3 database?

You can't "merge" databases - PT4 has a completely different database structure to PT3, but you can convert your PT3 database to PT4 using the Tools > Setup Assistant option.
