database error running PT 2 on Windows Vista

Dear Support,
after I have compacted my database on my notebook which is runnign with my second license and windows vista, there has arised an error so I´m not able to see statistics anymore or use one of the functions of the program.

When I try to open PT the following error message arrives:

when I try to open the ring game player statistics there pops up annother error window:

I really dont know what I could do against that and would be glad if anybody here would be able to help my.

It doesn't sound like you have been running as administrator every time.

Go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. Is there a file called ptrack_backup.mdb there?

no, there isn´t a file called "ptrack_backup.mdb" .

Go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and click on the Compatibility Files link/button there.

What files are in this folder with the file ext. MDB? What are their names, dates and sizes? This folder should be empty if you run as administrator all the time.

What is the date/time and size on that file?

yes there´s a file with this name, its 696 KB in size and was changed the last time today, when I tried to reinstall the software.

That's very small. But I just noticed from the other image you gave of the comp. files folder that you have multiple databases, ptrack.mdb is the default database file.

What other MDB files are in the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folders? What are their names, sizes and date/times?

there are 3 files in total:

Those are basically empty files. The ptrack and hhdb.mdb files are at the size they are as if you just installed PT for the first time.

Here is what I want you to try.

In the compatibility files folder you had a ptrack_backup file that was 1.1 gb and an hhdb file that was 178mb.

Copy those files to another folder for safe keeping. Rename the ptrack_backup file to ptrack after you put it in this safe folder.

Now, use the Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs window to uninstall Poker Tracker.

Reinstall Poker Tracker

and then after that (BEFORE YOU OPEN PT AGAIN) copy those ptrack and hhdb files from the safe folder back to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder.

Now, open PT MAKING SURE TO RUN AS ADMIN - Vista must prompt you to cancel/allow PT to run or it's not running as admin.

Does it open now? Can you open the stats window and see some of your data?
