New DB not working as it should

Postby bozmann » Mon Aug 04, 2008 1:47 pm

I just made a new DB cause my old one is starting to get to big, and lagging up my computer when its importing hands while i play. So i fire up a new database and convert it to postgreSQL. But it seems not to import all my hands, maybe only 50-70% of them. What is possibly wrong here?
I've made several new db's in the past and never had this problem before. I play on stars by the way.

already have that patch. It's the strangest thing cause there is no error showing in the log. I fire up 18 tables at stars, and autoimport after 3 min. With the old database its about 130-150 hands. But when i switch to the new one, the autoimport window says 60-80 hands importet!
I have no clue whats going on, tried to make another database, but its also the same with this :(

The version number says v2.17.02A in the title bar of the PT window?

You are saying that if you switch back to using the old database it says 130-150 hands were imported for the exact same files that the new db imported only 60-80 hands from? That doesn't make any sense, the database you use would not impact this.

Are you sure PokerStars is saving a file for every table you are playing at?

You can open the File > Import Hand Histories/Tournament Summaries window and click the Select Files To Import button and navigate to the PokerStars hand history folder and select all the files there to import. If you are playing 18 tables there should be 18 files. Does it import any new hands when you do this?

Played 2000 hands just now and used the old DB with autoimporting the hands as i played.
Then i opened the new DB and manually importet the hands, this worked fine and it importet excactly the same hands.
Seems that it is a problem with autoimporting the hands to the new DB, what can cause this then?

It's not possible, the 2 functions are identical. There has to be something else going on here. Are you using any other programs that could be moving your hand history files before they can be read in when you import into the other database.

One other test.

Play some hands without PT running for a while and then stop.

Then open the Stars auto-import window and uncheck the "Move processed files...." box.
Use the Force Import button to import the hands into one of the databases. Not the number of hands imported.
Now, close the window, open the other db, open the auto-import window again and do a force import into the second db.
Does the number of hands it imported match the first import?
