Is that easy to restore a poker tracker database?

Postby germany » Fri Apr 11, 2008 4:56 am

it seems to me that back up a postgreSQL database is much easier then access database

It only involve three steps
1) save a xxxx .backup file
2) download a new PT software
3) restore the xxxx.backup file

i find that backupfile is only 250 mb for for about 700 000 hands , am i right?

Can someone confirm me once if I am correct ? I just afraid things don't workout when restore the file .

Please tell me if you have tried and was successful in restoring postgreSQL PT database before.

The PostgreSQL backup files are compressed so they are going to be smaller than the Access database file was.

I don't understand what you are looking to do. Why do you need to do #2? Are you talking about putting PT on a new computer??

My point is that my PT V2 database is large, so the ace hud statistic is really important.
I want to make sure I am doing a 100% rigth thing to back up the postgresSQL pT V2!

Then yes. You need to save the .backup file. Then if you ever had a crash as lost PT then you would reinstall PT and PostgreSQL and restore from the backup file.
