pt3 lagging on vista since update, stats nut updating

Postby discgolfnut » Fri Feb 06, 2009 9:28 pm

Since I installed the latest version of pt3 it has been moving extremely slow. My stats will display for the tourneys I play and observed tables, but they don't update. I have to stop the hud and restart it to get the stats to update. I have tried reinstalling pt3 and sql. Thoughts, suggestions, links to the thread with an answer I couldn't find... thanks.

Have you tried running a full housekeeping on your databases? If you were upgrading from Build 3 to Build 4 there were database changes and not running housekeeping could slow things down considerably.

yeah i tried housekeeping... then reinstalling sql entirely. i am a plo player and datamine the cash games in the evening, could i be lagging because pt3 has to sort through all the datamine omaha hh from the night before? is there any way to seperate the hh or get pt3 to ignore them?

Are you importing your omaha hands into PT2:O?
It should move the processed files after the import finishes so that they don't have to be read again (and this would mean that PT3 wouldn't have to read them either).
Certainly having to read through a ton of other files will cause delays.

i'm importing the hands over the course of the evening in pt2 omaha. i start pt3 when i want to play some tourneys and it seems to run through all the omaha hand histories. do i need to close the pto first to clear the hh before i start pt3?

Yes, when you close the PTO import window it should move your omaha hands to the processed directory, and once that's happened they won't be in the way for PT3 to have to read through.

alright. so i have been leaving pt3 open all night with pto to run through the hands at the same time. I have been closing pto to clear the omaha hh. after about an hour of pt3 use it starts to lag. It was working fine before the update. Just trying to figure out what has changed to slow it down. Thanks for the help.

Please enable logging (Configure --> Options --> Logging Enabled and restart PT3) and the next time you experience any lag, please zip up and attach the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log and C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTrackerHud.log files to a support ticket and we'll look into what could be causing this for you.
