PAHUD Significantly Slowing Down [Lagging] PC on FTP (PLO)

Postby TheTilter » Thu Dec 04, 2008 10:59 am

Hi,
I am having problems with PAHUD. I am using PTO V1.13.02 and PAHUD v1.19B9 [Was told to go from 1.18 to Beta because stats weren't showing] while playing on FTP. While playing PTO will upload hands and I can play without any problems. Once I open up PAHUD, its like a surge occurs and the stats begin to show up and flicker insanely and my computer completely goes laggy. It slows my computer process such that I won't be able to act on decisions, as if my left mouse button has been cut off.

How can I fix this?

btw, my computer setup is Pentium 4, Windows XP, 1.5 GB Ram and I have recently reformatted within the past month to include updates [SP3].

Thanks

I would suggest a bit of a housekeeping which can prevent problems.
With Full Tilt stopped, open the FTP\Hand History folder and see if there are any old .tmp files. If there are, remove them. These should be removed by the FT software when you close the table, but sometimes some get left behind and if too many build up it can cause problems for PAHud.

Do you use the cache in PAH? If not, you should try it, this will speed things up a lot, especially if you have a lot of, or very large, databases.
Options -> Preferences -> Databases.
Please note when you first build the cache it can take a long time, so run it overnight or something.
(If you are using postgres 8.3 databases, the cache won't work.)
