Custom Stat For Absolute player Score

Postby gkeuler » Tue Oct 12, 2010 3:22 am

The statistics for all the regs/fish/maniacs in my database are all contained within a spreadsheet that also assigns a basic score based on a few criteria. Im gonna create a custom statistic for that score within pt3, but I need some advice on the best way to accomplish the method.

This would work with not only the custom stat itself, but also a individual custom hand history, Automating the process to create a one unique HH per player isnt an issue. The format for the custom stat iself would consist of 2 parts, the first telling it to filter down to only include the unique HH created for the player and the 2nd to return the desired value. The first part could be done in a variety of differnt ways Im thinking but all boil down to an IF condition that never will never truly occur in a database. The issue here is simplicity and the least amount of calculation within postgresql,

ITT you go over custom stats which only include HH's within a certain date/time based on their timestamp, could this theoretically be used to tell the stat to only include HH's played in 1892?

Once the stat is only reading the keyed HH, the formula has to be directed to the desired value for the stat. whats the best column/columns to use for this, would something like amt_pot or amt_before work? thanks

Yes, you could direct the column to only look at hands played before 1900 - I'm pretty sure timestamp doesn't have a problem going back that far - though you could pick 1999 equally well and it hardly matters. I'd say use amt_before - that's the player's chip stack at the start of the hand, and will be easier to think about than trying to make sure the pot adds up properly. Then you can just change the Hero's name and chip stack to make a different version for the next player and leave all opponents and action identical to the other fake hand history (changing the hand ID# in the header of course).
