Tried downloading "without PostgreSQL"

So i tried downloading PT3 without PostgreSQL to try it out. And it immediately wants me my PostgreSQL information. Um, why would it ask for that information if i specifically asked to download without PostgreSQL??

I have been reading the horror stories and i am already encountering problems just trying to get the program to open up.

I also have no idea what goes into downloading PostgreSQL. Is it easy? is there a simple step by step procedure for installing it. Should i just uninstall the PT3 i have now and try to install the version that is "with PostgreSQL"?

I am hesitant to fork over 75 bucks for a program that i can't even get to open up correctly.

postgres is mandatory for PT3 - it's the database manager that the product is based around - download the stable PT3 version with postgres and run the install.

it will run in PT3, then when you launch PT3 for the first time, it will install postgres, initialise your database, and you should be good to go...

After that, next time you install an update to PT3, just install the without postgres version.
