unable to connect to this database

I had to redownload PokerTracker3 after 4 months away from poker. It downloaded just fine but when I went to start it up the postgres log in screen cam eup. everything seemed to be filled in correctly

Local host postgres
5432 bdpass

but message came back

unable to connect to this database please check configuration

now I can not say that 4 months ago I deleted the postgres I may have or maybe just really screwed up some stuff. Not computer literate when it comes to the postgres stuff so I am lost.

what do I do?

Can you confirm that the password you're using is "dbpass" (and that bdpass is a typo in your post)?

If you partially uninstalled PostgreSQL then you'll need to complete the process. Please follow the How to reinstall PostgreSQL guide - complete any of the uninstall steps which you didn't already do, in particular make sure you delete the 'postgres' user.
