Pokertrakcer 3 doesnt work with PARTYPOKER

Hye i wanted to start this topic because of the big problem concerning PARTYPOKER and Pokertracker 3 not working together.

First of all i would like to invite all the users who are using Pokertracker and have problems on partypoker with it to write you name down here.

The more we are the more we can mybe push them to change something.

Secondly i would like to invite someone of the technical support on Pokertracker to help us out on what the errors are excatly with the writing down of the handhistory. I recieved an answer from another software developper and after he verfified a lot of my handhistories he told me this:

Thanks for the hands. I've found the problem, but unfortunately it is not something we can fix. PartyPoker is switching between using the American format for currency (eg, "$17.52") to a format common in Europe (eg, "17,52 $") midway through hands.

You can see this in the file called Windhoek, which has these two lines:
cman1011 raises [ $0.40 USD ]
cman1011 wins USD 0,55 $


Now from the Pokertracker side is this the same problem you have?

I really need to know what the problem is on pokertracker side. So that i can write Partypoker about the EXACT problem and not just telling them that they are inconsitent with the writing of their handhistory.

I'm in contact with Party poker trying to convince them that we are a bunch of people with the same problem.

Yesterday i recieved this e-mail from party poker:

Thank you for contacting us.

This email is regarding the Hand History files format. It was confirmed the way we provide the logs are known to be working and not a subject to a change. We used to offer Poker Tracker 3 item, available in the Points Store, which was working well in reading the Hand History files.

Due to the above, we can only suggest that the issue may be related to the version you are running, but unfortunately as it is a third party products we are unable to check further. It is best to check the version compatibility with their support.


Before i write them back i would love to have more detailed explications concerning the problem that PTR is encountering with their hand histories.

That would definitely be a problem for us as well.

One thing I've been told is a problem for us by our developers is that PartyPoker is not uniform in how they write their newlines in the hand histories. When action lines are all strung together sometimes and in different places throughout the hand, it causes havoc for our hand parser.

I just wrote them this e-mail, i hope its simple to understand:

Dear xxx i thank you for this quick answer.

After your email i checked the hand histories of party poker with the hand histories of the other poker sites i play on.

And if you take a closer look you can see that there are some weird lines you take compared to others.

For example you write throughout the hand always in the american format "$15" bet and when the pot is collected you write "15 $" in the european format which is not understandable.

And if you take a closer look sometimes PARTYPOKER another problem is that PartyPoker is not uniform in how they write their newlines in the hand histories. When action lines are all strung together sometimes and in different places throughout the hand, it causes havoc for the hand parser.

I just think that its sadly that PARTYPOKER is taking another line then the other poker sites in the way they write their handhistories. And i'm sorry but it has nothing to do with the Poker tracker because it works fine an all the other sites.

Got another mail from partypoker:

They will not change the way they write their handhistories down. You have to change the way you take your data.

They that the fact that they write actions in the same line are fixed and the problem with $ in front or behind the amount should be a problem for you to change...


I dont know what i can do more to make things go forward.

Thank you for trying. If they were even internally consistent in these issues we would be able to adapt, but my understanding is that with the newlines at least it is somewhat random which get mashed together - which makes it impossible for us to anticipate and parse the hands successfully.

Krada it is very important to delete the announce on your site where you write that poker tracker supports Party poker. It is not true and then you have people with a software that i cant use and i dont know if i can get my money back.

Little question on the side: does HUD work with PT4?

We do support Party Poker on the PC side; they only do this on their Mac version. I will talk to our developers about making that clearer though.

I would expect the same issues would be a problem for PT4 but I'll double check on that for you.
