Hardware failure want to retrieve postgres database

Postby Dirkvanb » Sat Jan 05, 2013 5:46 pm

Ok, i have a HD failure.
For some reason all my hand are not in the progressed folder (im on a mac btw)
But they are in the postgresSQL database for sure.
I can see that the data folder of that database is 7.8 gig.

however i cannot run PostgresSQL to back it up and the restore it as it used to.

So how can i do this manually..... ?

So i want to get the data from the postgressql from my old HD, on my new computer . How can i do this ?

If you copy the entire PostgreSQL "data" folder to the exact same path on your new computer and then install the same version of PostgreSQL it should connect to your existing databases. This works on Windows but I'm not entirely sure it will work the same way on Mac OS.

PT3 won't have deleted any of your hand history files, it only moves them, so unless you deleted them yourself they should still be on your drive somewhere.
The default path for the 'Processed' folder is ~/Documents/PokerTracker/Processed.
