Housekeeping takes too long

Hi, i have recently imported about 100k mined hands, the pt started to lag up Pokerstars, cause it took a long time for hud to appear and i decided to do a housekeeping (my cache status for hold'em was at 92%). It's been running for 14:30 hours and the progress bars isn't even at half.


I tried to cancel it, but it says, that it will stop after the current action is complete (right now its rebuilding cache). I dont want to wait another 24 hours, what do i do?

Please respond asap, since i am stuck here and don't know how to proceed.

The progress bar isn't always accurate for this kind of operation because we don't actually know how long PostgreSQL is going to take, but I would suggest that you let it complete. If the cache is not at 100% you will not get good performance in a large database.

FWIW in PT4 housekeeping is done while you import so you don't have this additional block of work to do.

Will it take the same amount of time next time i will do housekeeping or will it be faster?

Once it's at 100% as long as you import via Auto Import it will always remain at 100%. If you import manually but only in small chunks it will take time but not a ton of time. If you import enough hands it will need to be done again as updating can take longer than rebuilding eventually.
