Hand observed but not imported when playing

Hi, First time poster here.
I'm new to pokertracker, I've been using the trial for around a week now. I'm loving it (for the most part) until i came across a little problem today. I spent a couple of hours yesterday playing ring games and didn't run into this problem at all, so i'm a bit stumped.
I am new though so don't be mad if it's a simple fix. :D

I started up the software today, started importing hands, and opened up some tables (4 to be exact) everything was going fine until a message appeared saying something about hand histories will not be imported on observed tables.
I've seen this message another time whilst only observing tables, so when it appeared this time, i considered it to be a general message.

It was only later on, after finishing my session when i noticed in the Import section that roughly 100 hands hadn't been imported.

The Import status Starts with :
Auto Import beginning
Pokerstars: Starting auto import
Pokerstars: Found 0 files to monitor
Pokerstars:Importing observed hands from.........10 hands were imported then after that it shows
Pokerstars: Hand observed but not imported. for roughly 100 hands.
So it seems Pokerstars recognized me as observing instead of playing for some reason.

So what's happened here? anyone have any clue? As i said, yesterday and other times previous i did the same thing with no issues. Everything seems configured fine, I followed the set up properly.

That sort of behavior can occur if you haven't set PokerStars to save hand histories - are you certain the hand histories are saving and PT3 is configured to read from the directory they are saving to?

Hi, Kraada, thanks for the speedy response.

Yeah hand histories on pokerstars are set to save, that's one of the first things i did before starting whole PT installation. And i just double-checked on pokerstars to make sure i wasn't going mad. And the destination matches the Pokerstars Configuration Tab in the import section. I played a tournament after finishing the Cash session, and all but one hand imported successfully from that.

There is one thing i've just noticed, After restarting pokerstars there was a new update to install. So maybe it has to do with that? Apart from that, i don't know. As i said earlier everything's been importing and working fine for the last few days.

Install the update and make sure that PokerStars is still set to Run as Administrator and to save in the same location. Sometimes (fairly rarely but I have heard of it happening) these settings can be lost in upgrades.

Hi, I also ran as administrator in both pokerstars and pokertracker the first time i used PT, the guides say you only have to do this once, but i'll make the effort to do it every time just in case.

Pokerstars changed to Pokerstars.eu and pokerstars.net

In my case the hand history folders that used to be in C:\.....\Pokerstars\handhistory are now in C:\.....\Pokerstars.EU\handhistory (or Pokerstars.NET)

This is not automatically changed in your hand history settings in the pokerstars software. So if you change the folder in which you save your HHs it should be fine. Of course change the path in PT as well.
